Gerry Mitchell Musician, Singer/Songwriter of Children's Music
1 VOICE for Grades 4, 5 & 6
One Voice is a presentation on respect in which students are empowered to use their voices to be the change in their own lives and the lives of others, their environment and for those who can't speak for themselves.
It is similar in format to "Do Respect", and touches on anti-bullying and positive reinforcement of character through music and songs. The messages from the Positive Twist and Power Up, Power Down are included in this presentation and reinforce the lessons they've learned in the primary grades.
In the performance I speak to the students about using their voices respectfully yet powerfully. The 45 minute presentation covers self-respect, respect of others, good manners and proper etiquette, and having respect for our shared environment.
It delivers a message to students to stand up and speak out to make a change with their "One Voice". -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
for Grades K, 1, 2, 3 “thought provoking...fit well with out Virtues Program and Character Education...engaging and entertaining for students of all ages”
"Do Respect" is a highly interactive show that presents respect in a whole new way. It starts with self-respect, etiquette, "magic" words, respecting animals and ends with a powerhouse song "Power UP and Power DOWN" to get kids thinking about ways to help their environment. This is a proactive presentation designed around the fact that if children are shown and given respect, they will in turn make respectful choices with their words and actions. They soon realize that good manners and proper etiquette are the fastest way to give and receive respect.
"Do Respect" is a positive first step in lessening the need for antibullying strategies. The more children are respectful of themselves, others and their surroundings, the less time and effort needs to be spent on the consequences of not having made respectful choices.
Check out the great reviews on the "Past Shows" and "My Shows" pages.
Of course, Gerry has also entertained thousands of children at fairs and festivals and invoked the simple message of "Sing Every Day", the title of his debut CD. Be sure to check out Gerry's calendar and come and join him on stage to "Sing Every Day". You'll have a chance to meet a dinosaur who works at a museum, an owl whoooo works at a library and there's always a few surprises.
